Philippines Gets 200,000 More Pfizer Vaccines for Minors

Around 1,500 kids have gotten their first dose.

The Philippines on Sunday received 207,090 more Pfizer vaccine doses for minors as it expands immunizations to 12 to 17 year-olds, authorities said. 

Since Friday's rollout in Metro Manila, 1,509 children have been vaccinated against COVID-19, Health Usec. Rosario Vergeire said. 

The country's vaccine inventory is set to have 104 million doses by the end of October. As of Oct. 16, a total of 91,546,620 doses have arrived in the Philippines, according to the NTF.s

The Philippines has fully vaccinated 23 million people as of early October, versus the target 90% of its 109 million population.
