6 Persons of Interest Tagged in BDO-Mark Nagoyo Hacking: Central Bank
Authorities are looking for at least six "persons of interest" in the hacking of BDO accounts that shifted thousands of pesos to Unionbank under the name of one Mark Nagoyo, the central bank said Thursday.
Unionbank identified the six and coordinated with the National Bureau of Investigation to look for them, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Director for Technology Risk and Supervision Mhel Plabasan said.
The hackers transfered the money via Instapay, which validates only the account number, not the name. However, Unionbank has their identification documents, Plabasan said.
