Binibining Pilipinas on Saturday apologized for a social media post captioned "Natural womaaaaaan", which members of the LGBTQIA+ community saw as shade against the newly-crowned openly queer Miss Universe-Philippines.

There was "no intention to throw malice at any individual," according to the apology, which made no mention of Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez.

"We will never consciously do anything to minimize ther experience and truth of anyone," said the nearly 60-year-old pageant, which held the franchise to Miss Universe in the Philippines until 2019.

Future posts will be vetted and the organization said it would be more "mindful" online. It also appealed to fans to spare its titleholders from vitriol as they had nothing to do with the post that was taken down.
