"I take with me the lessons of local governance, considering how important it is for the national government to have prior coordination with the local government in the tourist sites over which LGUs have jurisdiction," she said.
"That means investing heavily in infrastructure as far as improving the connectivity and access to our tourist sites. That means coordinating closely with the relevant government agencies for the improvement of roads, bridges, access to seaports and airports, as well as modes of public transportation," she told ANC in an interview.
Stressing the importance of tourism workers, Frasco also hopes to highlight the local artists, artisans, and makers in Liloan and in Cebu as well whose "talents are evident in the products they produce."
"It would be wonderful to be able to shed light on these products and to give them a platform to be introduced nationally and globally," she said.
Frasco will assume as head of the Department of Tourism once president-elect Bongbong Marcos begins his term on June 30 this year. Aside from being Liloan mayor, Frasco also served as spokesperson of vice president-elect Sara Duterte during her campaign.
