Beware of Doctored Online Learning Photos, Says DepEd

The Department of Education on Thursday warned the public of fake news and staged photos of distance learning setups after receiving reports of false information spreading online.

In a Facebook post, the Department of Education said it would take the necessary steps to investigate the spread of doctored images on social media and would exhaust all means to ensure that only correct and verified information would reach learners and educators during the pandemic.

Verifying the post or photos is encouraged so as to prevent the proliferation of wrong information to students and teachers, some of whom are still adjusting to the new learning set-up.

The department said updates can only be accessed on their official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, alongside their official website.
