The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a statement regarding COVID-19 test kits and its omnibus guidelines on testing.

Take note: The  latter has not been approved.

The DOH released this advisory after diagnostic product distributor TruLaboratories Corporation claimed via a social-media post that its Antigen Test Kits were endorsed for use under the omnibus guidelines.

The DOH reiterated no guideline has been approved "nor has it been signed and issued for implementation."

The statement adds: "Moreover, while there are antigen kits approved for commercial use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), DOH DOES NOT ENDORSE specific brands or distributors."

DOH calls on the public to be vigilant about false information, and to verify all updates through the department’s official website and social media pages.

The advisory was released on Sunday, August 23, 2020.
