Magnitude 7 Earthquake Rocks Luzon, Epicenter in Abra
(UPDATE) A powerful earthquake shook the Philippines' main island of Luzon on Wednesday and was felt in the capital, Manila, where people were forced to evacuate from office towers.
A Magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck kilometers north of Tayum, Abra at 8:43 a.m. with a depth of 17 kilometers, Phivolcs said in an updated bulletin. Abra is a landlocked farming province in the Cagayan Valley region in the northeast.
Phivolcs initially reported that the amplitude of the earthquake was Magnitude 7.3 which hit kilometers north of Lagangilang, Abra.

Aftershocks and damage are expected due to the earthquake, Phivolcs added.
Employees in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig were forced to evacuate from their office buildings due to the earthquake.
Operations of MRT-3, LRT-2 Philippine National Railways and the LRT-2 were also temporarily suspended for safety checks.
