(UPDATE) Monsoon rains whipped by Typhoon Fabian (In-Fa) will continue to drench Luzon and the Visayas through the weekend, PAGASA said, as it urged the public to brace for possible flooding.

Fabian, the sixth storm of 2021, was spotted at 540 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 4 p.m. Friday, packing winds of up to 150 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 185 kph.

"In the next three days po, ngayong weekend until Monday, July 24 to 26 dahil sa Bagyong Fabian, ine-enhance pa rin niya ang ating southwest monsoon, magiging maulan pa rin po sa Metro Manila," weather forecaster Shelly Ignacio said.

Signal no. 1, which means winds of 30-60 kph, was raised over Batanes.
