Fake Biogesic, Bioflu Worth P30M Seized by Customs
The Bureau of Customs said Tuesday it seized about P30 million worth of counterfeit Biogesic, Bioflu, and other drugs that are mostly out of stock due to the Omicron surge.
The fake medicines, which also included Immunepro, Medicol, Planax, Alaxan FR, MX3 and Ivermectin, were found in cartons with Chinese characters at two storages in Parañaque City on Jan. 5, the BOC said.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Biogesic maker Unilab Inc. said the medicines were counterfeit, it said.
Authorities arrested a 31-year-old Pakistani national over the seizure.
