The Food and Drug Administration on Friday warned consumers against the purchase and use of skincare brand The Ordinary's products for lack of certification.

The following products from The Ordinary lack a Certificate of Product Notification, making its manufacturing, importation, sale, distribution, and use prohibited, according to an FDA advisory:

  • The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% High-Strength Vitamin and Mineral Blemish Essence
  • The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
  • The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

"Since the abovementioned unauthorized cosmetic products have not gone through the notification process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure their quality and safety. The use of such violative product may pose health risks to consumers," the FDA said.

The advisory included two photos of The Ordinary listings on an e-commerce platform.

The public was advised to refrain from buying the listed products from The Ordinary as there may be potential health hazards. Establishments were also warned not to distribute or sell the product.
