The Gokongwei Group has fully migrated to Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, leading Philippine conglomerates in the shift to digital, the U.S. tech giant said.

Completed in 2021, the migration allowed Gokongwei companies to implement remote work during the pandemic while priming them to maximize the benefits of Azure, Microsoft's intelligent cloud that's used by 95% of Fortune 500 companies.

It's also the "biggest migration of its kind to the cloud of any Philippine-based company," Microsoft said.

“The Gokongwei Group and their industry-defining transformation has elevated them into an enterprise of tomorrow, which is crucial as the digital and traditional economy continue to be on a growth trajectory,” said Sandy Gupta, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations, Microsoft Asia Pacific.

Aside from Microsoft, the Gokongwei Group tapped tech partners ePLDT and Infosys for the shift.

“Our vision and purpose have steadfastly remained – an unrelenting commitment to provide our customers with better choices, creating shared success with our stakeholders. We knew that achieving that requires an entrepreneurial mindset, and our ambition needed to be on a foundation of integrity,” said Carlos G. Santos, Chief Information Office of JG Summit Holdings Inc.
