GUIDE: How to Get Jabbed on National Vaccine Days

The Philippines will roll out a three-day mass vaccination drive starting Monday to bring the country closer to its 50 million target for the year. 

The government seeks to immunize 15 million Filipinos in three days, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, ahead of the Christmas holidays, the Department of Health said. 

While Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 are considered non-holidays, the Palace said workers who would be immunized during those e days wouldn't be marked absent, as long as they can present proof of vaccination to their employers.

Who can get vaccinated on these days?

All eligible Filipinos aged 12 and above can get the jab.

How to register for a vaccine?

Coordinate with your local government for sign up schedules.

Are walk-ins allowed?

Yes, especially for senior citizens and those with comorbidities, the DOH said. Registration with local government units is highly encouraged, it said.

What are the requirements?

For adults, bring your valid ID and medical clearances, if necessary.

For aged 12 to 17, bring valid ID of the minor and the parent or guardian. Parents or guardians, don’t forget to bring proof of relationship such as birth certificate.

If parents cannot join their children to the vaccination site, the accompanying adult should present a notarized authorization letter, a written affidavit of parent or guardian under an oath with a public official such as notary public or barangay officials with presentation of a valid government ID, and a barangay certification.

When is a medical clearance needed?

Minors and adults with these conditions should present a medical clearance prior to vaccination:

• Autoimmune disease
• Persons living with HIV
• Cancer/malignancy
• Undergone transplant
• Ongoing use of steroid medications
• Bed-ridden with poor prognosis

Are booster shots available? 

Yes. So far, only health workers (A1 priority), senior citizens (A2), and those with weak immune systems (A3) can get booster shots.

Don’t forget to bring your original vaccination card showing you’ve completed the initial two-dose series or the one-shot Janssen vaccine.
