How Does Bongbong Marcos Mark the People Power Anniversary?

Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos said he does not do "anything special" for the annual commemoration of the People Power Revolution which led to the ouster of his father, late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Marcos Jr., the frontrunner in presidential surveys, made the comment in an interview with broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas that premiered Monday when asked how he "copes" with the annual event.

"We don't do very much, we just get on with our lives. We don't do anything special for it," Marcos Jr. said.

"It's not a particular day na 'oh magpe-Pebrero na naman mage-EDSA na naman kailangan naka ano tayo', wala... Maraming masyadong kailangan gawin para matigil pa ang ginagawa mo because there's an EDSA celebration," he added.

Filipinos toppled the late dictator Marcos Sr. through People Power in 1986 after two decades of autocratic rule. The peaceful protests prompted the Marcos family to flee and restored democracy in the Philippines.
