How Not to Waste Your Globe Mobile Data Plan When Using Home WiFi
Globe Telecom now allows subscribers, both postpaid and prepaid, to convert their unused data allocations into rewards points, helping them avoid wasting money during the pandemic, it said on Thursday.
The gigs to points feature can be accessed through the Globe One app, said Issa Cabreira, the Ayala-owned telco's deputy chief commercial officer. This is especially useful during the quarantines when mobile data plans are underutilized by subscribers who work from home using their WiFi connections.
"Walang sayang, walang tapon lalo na sa mga ganitong panahon, gusto natin optimized gusto natin sulit lahat," Cabreira told reporters.
Postpaid users can swap 1GB of unused data for 10 points. The conversion is 1GB for 1 point for prepaid subscribers and 3GB for 3 points for home prepaid WiFi, Cabreira said.
How much is 1GB worth? In the Philippines, that much data is worth P10, Cabreira said. Take note that the cost does not take into account data purchased as buckets or as part of a postpaid plan.
