Low Pressure Area to Bring Rains to Visayas, Mindanao
A low pressure area or brewing storm will bring rains to large parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday, while the Amihan or cold winds will prevail over Luzon, weather bureau PAGASA said.
The weather system is unlikely to intensify into a typhoon, still residents are advised to prepare for rains, said PAGASA forecaster Meno Mendoza.
Early Monday, the highest rainfall warning, red, was raised over Eastern Samar, Samar, Southern Leyte and Biliran where serious flooding is expected in low-lying areas while landslides are possible in mountainous areas, PAGASA said.
The lowest in PAGASA's three-step rainfall warning system, yellow, was raised the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Misamis Oriental Bukidnon and Zamboanga del Norte, PAGASA said.
