LRT-2 Anonas, Katipunan, Santolan Stations Set to Reopen

Operations for the LRT-2's Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas Stations could resume as early as this week after a more than a year of suspension, a spokesperson said Wednesday.

Running on temporary power supply for now, the LRT-2 on the three stations will be slower and trip intervals will be longer, said LRT-2 spokesperson Hernando Cabrera

"Natapos na kasi natin 'yung temporary power facilities natin na ginawa ng ating contractor at ating engineering department para maibalik natin agad 'yung operasyon nitong tatlong istasyon,"  he told Unang Balita.

LRT-2 Resumes Operations After Fire

In October 2019, operations for the three easternmost stations were suspended after a power rectifier in Katipunan caught fire and compromised power supply for the trains.

"Ang target natin makuha natin within the week yung tinatawag natin na safety clearance. Within the week din mabalik natin ang operasyon na kasama na 'yung mga pasahero," he said.

Like with other stations, health protocols will be observed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing, mandatory wearing of face masks and shields, and temperature checks will be implemented.
