Makati Elevator Car Drops, Leaving 2 Killed: Reports

Two people died after an elevator car under repair fell to the basement of an office tower in Makati City at dawn on Friday, GMA News reported quoting police.

Authorities are investigating why the elevator car dropped from the 38th floor of the Burgundy Corporate Tower at around 2:55 a.m.

Two others were hurt, according to Manila Bulletin. All casualties were repairmen.

Burgundy Tower is among the tallest buildings on the edge of the Makati central business district, located on the northbound side of Buendia.
