Metro Manila-Western Visayas Bus Routes to Resume
Provincial buses headed for Western Visayas will resume operations starting Wednesday as restrictions ease on the eighth month of quarantine, authorities said Monday.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board opened 7 routes for 221 provincial buses which will ferry passengers between Metro Manila and Western Visayas.
These bus routes headed for Western Visayas will open tomorrow:
- KALIBO, AKLAN - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- MALAY, AKLAN - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- ESTANCIA, ILOILO - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- ILOILO CITY, ILOILO - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
- MIAG-AO, ILOILO - STA. ROSA INTEGRATED TERMINAL, LAGUNA
There will be no fare increase for these provincial buses, the LTFRB said.
Roadworthy public utility vehicles with valid Certificates of Public Convenience (CPC) or Application for Extension of Validity will be permitted to resume limited operations. All approved PUV units must have a registered Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.
Each unit must have a printed QR code on a short bond paper plastered inside the vehicle. Requests for QR codes can be coursed through the LTFRB Facebook page and must contain the following details: Name, mode, case (ex. PUJ, UVE, etc.), and plate or chassis number.
Commuters are urged to follow the 7 commandments for commuters to keep themselves safe from the virus during their travels. These include the mandatory wearing of face masks plus shields, frequent disinfection, and observance of proper social distance at all times. Operators must ensure that PUV units have proper ventilation.

Passengers are barred from eating or talking, and those with symptoms will be banned from riding.
Violation of the provisions will result in fines and revocation of CPC or PA.
