(UPDATE) Microsoft Teams was trending early on Thursday as corporate slaves celebrated the brief respite on the penultimate day of the workweek.
"MS Teams" was at the top of Twitter trends with more than 2,200 mentions as of 10:30 a.m. Web tracker Downdetector said the Microsoft app started having problems since 9:24 p.m. Eastern time (9:24 a.m. in Manila).
Users reported they couldn't access MS Teams or use any of its features, said Microsoft. Other services linked to Teams, such as Microsoft Word, Office Online and SharePoint Online, were also inaccessible, it said.
"We’ve determined that a recent deployment contained a broken connection to an internal storage service, which has resulted in impact. We’re working to direct traffic to a healthy service to mitigate impact," it said.
Almost three hours later, at 12:13 p.m., Microsoft said MS Teams was "beginning to recover."
"We're continuing our efforts to implement relief within the environment," it said.
