4,806 COVID Cases Logged As Metro Manila Expands Vaccination for Minors

The Philippines on Thursday tallied 4,806 more COVID-19 infections as vaccinations for minors expands to more Metro Manila hospitals.

The day's tally brought active cases to 65,835. A total of 5,934 new recoveries and 260 new deaths were also reported.

Since the start of the panemic, the Philippines logged a cumulative total of 2,740,111 cases, of which 2,633,039 recovered and 41,237 died.

Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila is expected to last until the end of October. Last Tuesday, select provinces shifted to the alert level-based quarantine system with restrictions also set to expire on Oct. 31.

Every city and municipality in Metro Manila is expected to have at least one hospital to administer COVID vaccines to minors with underlying conditions starting Friday.
