Pasig Exempts Bikers from Wearing Face Shields on the Road

Pasig City has exempted bikers from wearing face shields while on the road as they deemed it dangerous to cycle while wearing one.

In an advisory posted on Facebook, Pasig Transport said wearing a face shield obstructs the cyclist's view and makes breathing difficult. Biking naturally isolates riders from other commuters, it said.

The country's inter-agency task force on COVID-19 last week issued a policy directive requiring face shields at all times in public places. This will need municipal and city ordinances for implementation.

Previously, this was only mandatory aboard mass transportation and in commercial establishments.
