The Philippine National Railway Clark Phase 1 which shortens travel time from Tutuban to Malolos is now 43% complete, the Department of Transportation said Tuesday.

The 38-kilometer line is one out of three parts comprising the North-South Commuter Railway project of the DOTr and PNR. The project is under the Build, Build, Build program, with the goal of connecting Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and CALABARZON via train.

The line is seen to reduce travel time between between Tutuban, Manila and Malolos, Bulacan by half  to just 30 to 35 minutes. It is also expected to decongest traffic in Metro Manila.
