Remember Sun Cellular? It's Now Smart Prepaid

Sun Cellular, which became popular among Filipinos for its cheap unlimited text and calls, has been rebranded into Smart Prepaid.

Current Sun Cellular subscribers can retain their existing numbers, PLDT-Smart said in a statement Wednesday, the same day the rebranding took effect.

"It is the same Sun that people love made even better," PLDT-Smart said.

Subscribers of Sun Cellular are now Smart Prepaid subscribers and are entitled to  "access to expanded retail and customer care channels, data-packed GIGA offers alongside existing select Sun Top-up offers, and a wider array of perks and rewards.”

To avail of promos, subscribers can press *123# on their phones or go to over a million e-load Smart retailers nationwide.

It was in 2011 when PLDT, which also operates Smart, acquired Digitel which operates Sun Cellular.
