The low pressure area that was formerly Tropical Depression Auring will continue to bring rains to large parts of Luzon on Tuesday, dissipating further as it trudges inland, PAGASA said.
The weather system could dissipate completely over 24 hours. At 3 a.m., it was located 105 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon. Auring flooded large parts of Mindanao over the weekend, displacing thousands.
On Tuesday, the low pressure area will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms, mostly on the eastern portion of Luzon, said PAGASA forecaster Shelly Ignacio. Affected areas include: Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizacaya, Quirino, Cordillera Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Metro Manila.
The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will bring passing light rains to the Ilocos provinces, Batanes and Babuyan Islands, Ignacio said. The scope of Amihan rains will expand in the next two to three days, she said.
