Vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio said Monday she's not the best pick for the position but has a "strong heart" to deliver the work needed of a public servant with only a week left before the May 9 elections.

Should she get elected, Duterte-Carpio said she wouldn't claim to be the best vice president in Philippine history and would leave it to the public to decide.

“I would not say na I would be the best vice president that our country will ever have. We will let history be the judge of that pero 'yung nasa akin po talaga at lagi kong sinasabi na nasa ating lahat is 'yung tibay ng puso ko as a Filipino. Matibay talaga ang puso ko," she said in an interview with Net25.

The political heir of President Rodrigo Duterte is running with presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and is the top pick for vice president based on the April pre-election survey of Pulse Asia.

"I am not the best, I’m not the brightest, I’m not the most brilliant candidate out there pero kung mayrooon kang ipapagawa sa akin, I will move mountains para ma-deliver 'yan sa iyo. 'Yan po yung nasa akin at nasa ating lahat na mga Filipino,” Duterte-Carpio said.

Duterte-Carpio is the other half of the "UniTeam" tandem that is backed by former presidents Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Joseph Estrada, and Fidel Ramos.
