More Time to Get Autosweep RFID, Cashless Deadline Moved to Nov. 30

The full shift to cashless transactions for San Miguel Corp tollways was moved from Nov. 2 to Nov. 30 to buy motorists more time to get their RFID stickers, management announced on Friday.

Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), the Skyway System, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) are all ready to collect toll fees digitally by Nov. 2 in compliance with government orders, but a surge in the demand for RFID stickers over the past two weeks pushed SMC to move the deadline to a later date.

"From Nov. 2 to 30, vehicles without RFID will still be allowed to enter the expressways. Hopefully, this will give more time for motorists to get their RFID stickers," the company said.

San Miguel said Nov. 30 will be the "absolute deadline" and any vehicle without an RFID sticker will be barred from entering SMC-operated tollways.

Motorists who fail to comply with government mandate will be apprehended and issued a citation ticket, the company said.
