The 2020/21 Bar Exams are Moved to 2022

The November 2021 Bar Exams have been moved to early next year, the Supreme Court said Tuesday as the country continues to fight a surge of COVID-19 infections.

The new schedule of the Bar Exams is on Jan. 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6, 2022, according to a bulletin issued by Associate Justice Marvic Leonen who chairs the 2020/21 exams.

Application periods for the 2020/21 Bar Exams will not be reopened but preparatory activities such as selection of bar applicants of their venue, and downloading of the secure exam delivery program will continue.

“Treat this as an opportunity. Keep your momentum. Remember that you study not only to pass the Bar Examinations, but also so that you will best serve others,” Leonen said in his bulletin.

“Study well, purposively, and with passion,” he added.

The upcoming Bar Exams will test two batches of graduates--those from 2020 and 2021--since last year's exams were also cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Supreme Court earlier announced that due to the "extraordinary circumstances" posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020/21 Bar Exams would break away from the tradition of announcing top 10 passers and would instead recognize all examinees who will record "exemplary performance."
