The heads of the University of the Philippines and the Department of National Defense agreed to dialogue on an abrogated accord after their heads met on Thursday for the first time since the pact ended, UP said.
In the breakfast meeting hosted by Commission on High Education Chairman Prospero De Vera lll, DND Sec. Delfin Lorenzana and UP President Danilo Concepcion discussed "the way forward and possible areas of cooperation" in relation to the accord, statement said.
No other details were released except that discussions aimed to promote "mutual aspirations to ensure a safe and secure environment conducive to learning".
More meetings will follow, it said.
The dialogue was held at Veterans Golf Club in Quezon City.
