UP to Start Accepting Freshman Applications on Jan. 7
Applications go online due to COVID.
The University of the Philippines said Friday it would start accepting online applications for first-year students for the next academic year on Jan. 7 after scrapping its annual entrance exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the first time ever, applications will be processed via a dedicated online admissions portal, the UP Media and Public Relations Office said in its announcement.
So as to not expose applicants to the virus, UP came up with an online submission process which will screen submissions based on their high school records. The process is as follows, according to the UP website:
- Applicants shall accomplish Form 1 (Personal Data Sheet) electronically and upload their photo and electronic signature.
- High schools shall be requested to log on to the Grades Submission link to accomplish Form 2 (High School Records) on behalf of the applicants.
- If a high school has not received the email of the UP OAdms, applicants from that school must inform the Office of the school’s current official email address via dataproc.oadms@up.edu.ph to facilitate communications between the UP OAdms and the high school.
