The Philippines on Thursday received an additional 500,000 doses of China's Sinovac vaccine, as it moved to innoculate more people while infections surge, the country's immunization czar said.
Manila has now received 3.5 million doses of CoronaVac. It ordered a total of 25 million doses and the first batches to arrive were donations from Beijing. The Philippines plans to vaccinate up to 70 million of its roughly 100 million population this year despite short supply.
