Colleges and universities in Metro Manila can hold limited face-to-face classes, Malacañang said Friday as the capital region shifts to the more relaxed COVID-19 Alert Level 2.

The conduct of face-to-face classes however needs to be approved by the learning institutions' respective local government units, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said. Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2 until Nov. 21.

"Puwede po magkaroon na ng limited face-to-face pero hindi po yan instant," he told Palace reporters.

Previously, face-to-face classes were only limited to select programs of higher education institutions particularly those in the fields of health sciences.

Here are the requirements for limited face-to-face classes in Alert Level 2:

1. Fully vaccinated faculty and students

2. Maximum of 50% room capacity

3. Concurrence or support of LGUs concerned

4. Retrofitting of facilities to be used as inspected by the Commission on Higher Education.
