Curfew hours in Metro Manila will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting Thursday, MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos said as the capital region pilots a new alert-based quarantine system against COVID-19.
Metro Manila will be under Alert Level 4 from Sept. 16 to 30 which is somewhat similar to MECQ in the community quarantine system.
"Ang curfew ay i-aadjust po namin from 8 p.m. gagawin na po naming 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.," Abalos said in a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday night.
COVID-19 vaccinations will continue under Alert Level 4 according to Abalos.
Under the government's new guidelines, Alert Level 4 4 refers to areas wherein case counts are high and/or increasing, and with high utilization rates for total hospital beds and ICUs.
The following are prohibited from leaving their homes under Alert Level 4 except to obtain basic goods and services or for work purposes:
1. Persons below 18 and those who are over 65
2. Those with immunodeficiencies, comorbidities, or other health risks
3. Pregnant women
