Cities in Metro Manila implemented a uniform curfew of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Mar. 15 to quell surge in COVID-19 cases that coincided with the anniversary of the first nationwide lockdown.

Like in 2020, there are authorized persons outside of residence or APOR, said Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, officer in charge of the Philippine National Police. These people can go about their official business during the curfew hours, which will last until the end of the month.

While exempted, APORs are still required to follow minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks and face shields, observing physical distancing protocols, and disinfecting frequently.
