Installation of AutoSweep RFID stickers remains free, the toll collection platform reminded the public as applications for the much-needed stickers crossed over to 2021.
San Miguel Corp, which operates AutoSweep RFID, warned motorists against scammers asking for a P500 fee for the supposed prioritization of their walk-in applications.
"Please do not entertain any text messages, e-mails, or any form of communication that require payment of any amount to process your AutoSweep RFID application," the tollway operator said in a public reminder.
Motorists only need to secure queuing numbers issued by authorized AutoSweep RFID customer representatives onsite for walk-in installation, San Miguel Corp said. Complaints can be submitted via [email protected]
Autosweep RFID can be used at Skyway, SLEX, NAIAX, STAR Tollway, MCX, and TPLEX.
The government first enforced cashless toll collection using RFID systems on Dec. 1, 2020. But complaints from motorists and local government units on faulty RFID sensors have kept cash toll collections ongoing.
