"Just reminded her that Nov. 15 is fast approaching," Dela Rosa told reportr when asked about what transpired during their meeting, referring to the last day of the candidate substitution for the 2022 elections.

The senator, who filed his candidacy for president a few hours before the filing period closed on Oct. 8, has been open about his readiness to be replaced by Duterte-Carpio in the position if it is the will of his party.

Should the Davao City mayor decide not to run for president, Dela Rosa said he would push through with his candidacy.

"Kung ayaw ni Inday Sara na tanggapin yung offer ng PDP-Laban, then I am serious candidate," he said in an earlier interview. "I filed my candidacy both as a principal or a supernumerary. Pwede akong palitan anytime. Party decision should always prevail."
