Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos said Monday he believes "anti-Marcos" positions equate to "bias", adding he would rather discuss pressing issues than his father's past.

The only son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was explaining why he skipped a weekend interview with GMA News anchor Jessica Soho, whom he accused of being "biased".

Asked on One PH television what is biased, the survey frontrunner said: "Anti-Marcos".

"Pinagbabasehan ko lang yung karanasan ko, yung mga experience ko in the last few years, hindi lang ako pati yung kapatid ko, basta may kinalaman sa Marcos eh talagang may bias lang talaga ang pakiramdam ko...Kung ganun na naman ang magiging usapan wala ng silbi 'yun," Marcos Jr. said.

"Hindi na tayo babalik sa mga issue na 35 years old na na mga issue. Na-decide na 'yan eh. Puntahan natin itong mga bagong problema na kinakaharap natin ngayon," he said. "What questions do you need to asked that have not been asked...Why are we doing this?"

GMA Network earlier defended Soho from the accusations of bias from the Marcos camp, saying the veteran journalist will ask the tough questions "because the job of the presidency is tough."

Marcos Jr. also denied he was a coward after hashtag #MarcosDuwag trended on Twitter following his non-appearance for the GMA interview.

"Wala naman ako iniiwasan eh basta ang ninanais ko lang ay pag-usapan natin ang issues of the day," Marcos Jr. said.

"Siguro naman sa pinagdaanan ko sa buhay ko maliwanag naman na 'di ako duwag na tao at 'di lang yun, lahat naman hinaharap ko," he said.

Marcos Jr. is seeking the presidency alongside President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter Sara, who is seeking the vice presidency.
