The Silang East Interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway or CALAX which shortens travel time between Cavite and Laguna opened on Tuesday, photos from management showed.
The interchange is expected to serve 5,000 motorists daily to decongest traffic along Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, and Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road, according to operator MPCALA Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.
Once complete, CALAX is seen to slash travel time between Cavite and Laguna to an hour from two hours. The 45-kilometer expressway will serve 45,000 vehicles with eight interchanges in the following locations:
- Kawit
- Governor’s Drive
- Open Canal
- Silang (Aguinaldo) Highway
- Silang East
- Santa Rosa-Tagaytay
- Laguna Boulevard
- Laguna Technopark
