Christine Dacera's friends who were tagged as persons of interest in the criminal investigation into her death are living in fear and out of work, one mother said, as she rued the "chaos" that surrounds the case.
Singer and businesswoman Claire dela Fuente, mother of Gigo de Guzman, posted on Facebook about a police crime laboratory report that concluded aortic aneurysm or ruptured vein as Dacera's cause of death.
One month since Dacera's death after a night of drinking on New Year's Eve, the Department of Justice has yet to determine whether or not a case can be filed in court. A complaint for rape with homicide filed by police a few days after the incident was set aside for lack of evidence.
When the Philippine National Police Chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, announced on Jan. 5 that the case was "solved" with the detention of several men, some politicians offered bounties for the capture of those whom Sinas tagged as "at large."
"People they don't know follow them. Taking a video. Forced to leave their homes in fear someone might kidnap them because of Politicians BOUNTY," Dela Fuente said on Facebook.
One of the persons of interest, Valentine Rosales, said he was kicked out of the house for being gay. Rosales and Dacera's friends were forced to come out of the closet to deny allegations that they raped her.
"The people have made fun of it. Called a KILLER, RAPIST, DRUG ADDICT. And the heaviest LOST HIS JOB, SUSPENDED, DENIED BY FATHER, KICKED OUT OF THEIR HOUSE, CAR REMOVED, SHAME OF PARENTS," she said.

Dacera's friends are breadwinners from poor families and are unable to work, Dela Fuente said.
The group moved to clear their names through a YouTube channel and Facebook page, Fund the Truth. They are also selling shirts online, named after their hotel room number, 2209.
In an earlier interview on TV host Boy Abunda's YouTube channel, Dacera's mother, Sharon said she would continue fighting for her daughter, notwithstanding bashers.
"Yung mga bash ba na ganyan, tatanggapin mo na lang basta nangyari sa anak mo?" she said. "That's what I'm fighting for. Wala naman kaming pera, pero alam ng Diyos na nangangailangan ng hustisya si Christine."
