Christine Dacera was an "upstanding and professional" flight attendant, Philippine Airlines said Tuesday, as it joined calls for justice over death that drew public outrage.

Dacera, who is in her early 20s, worked for PAL Express. The flag carrier mourns her passing, said the airline's spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.

"She was an upstanding and professional PAL Express crew member who will be sorely missed by her colleagues and friends," according to the statement released by Villaluna.

"We are extending full support to the flight attendant's family at this most difficult time. Our desire is for the truth to come out in the interest of justice," said the statement.,
