Children aged four and below could be eligible for COVID vaccines by April, the country's immunization czar said Wednesday, as the country battles a surge driven by the Omicron variant.
Up to 11.11 million minors in the 0 to 4 age group would get jabbed against COVID-19, said Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. The government eyes to vaccinate 90 million Filipinos in 2022, including minors.
Authorities will also start administering jabs to children aged five to 11 with reformulated Pfizer vaccines by February, he said.
Some 53 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated as of Jan. 10, according to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, of which, 3.5 million have received their boosters.
