The Department of Tourism said it allowed an initial eight luxury hotels in Metro Manila to accept bookings for staycations. It earlier released guidelines, including antigen tests for the coronavirus prior to the guests' arrival.

The following have secured a Certificate of Authority to Operate for Staycations from the DOT:
- Okada Manila
- Grand Hyatt
- Makati Shangri-La
- Nobu Hotel
- Shangri-La at the Fort
- Solaire Resort
- Edsa Shangri-La
- Joy-Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila
Only hotels with four or five-star rating can accomodate guests checking in for leisure purposes in areas under GCQ, as per the tourism department's guidelines.
They have to adhere to strict regulations, like the maximum number of guests per room, and health standards. Ancillary facilities (gyms, swimming pools, restaurants) can also resume operations. Bars are still prohibited.
