President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday quashed talks that his eldest daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio would run to succeed him in the 2022 polls.
Duterte made the announcement during a visit to victims of Tropical Storm Auring in Surigao del Sur.
"Inday Sara is not running. I have really, really put my foot down. Naaawa ako sa anak ko," he said during a situation briefing.
"Ang politika dito sa ano...kababuyan," he said.
