Moviegoers can eat snacks in cinemas in areas under Alert Level 1, the Department of Trade and Industry said Tuesday as COVID-19 restrictions are largely eased in several parts of the country.
Entry to indoor cinemas remains limited to individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, DTI Usec. Ruth Castelo said.
"Yes, [eating] is allowed already. Only fully vaccinated individuals can enter," Castelo told reportr in a text message.
It can be recalled that eating and drinking were initially prohibited when cinemas reopened last year after nearly two years of closure due to the pandemic.

On Tuesday, Metro Manila and several other provinces transitioned to the "new normal" where moviehouses along with all other businesses are allowed to operate at 100% capacity as long as minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks are strictly observed.
Malacañang on Monday said businesses can also do away with temperature checks at the entrance of establishments and paper-based health declaration forms or contact tracing.
