Employees in areas under Alert Level 1 are encouraged to work on site to help boost businesses as the economy reopens further, the DTI said Monday.
More people going out of their homes mean brick-and-mortar stores will have more customers, which will help revive the economy dragged by COVID lockdowns, Trade Sec. Ramon Lopez told dzBB.
"Mas ie-encourage ngayon ang on-site work. 'Yung work from home allowed lang, optional pero mas ine-encourage on-site work," said Lopez.
"Mas maraming tao sa labas, 'yung SME (small and mid-size enterprise) na mga tindahan, stores, restaurants sa paligid ng mga opisina nabubuhay ulit," he added.
Metro Manila and 38 other areas will shift to Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15.
Under Alert Level 1 or the lowest in the five-tier COVID restriction system, all establishments will be allowed to operate at full on-site capacity with compliance to minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks and practicing physical distancing.
