The motorist who was caught cursing at authorities in a viral video has apologized, saying he was ready to face the consequences of his actions.
Franz Orbos said he was "deeply remorseful" for hurting his loved ones, who were disturbed over the incident. Police earlier said the suspect would be charged with alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or agents, and direct assault.
The traffic chief of the MMDA, Bong Nebrija, confirmed Orbos' apology.
Orbos went viral on social media after resisting arrest while challenging policemen: "Hindi niyo ba ako kilala? Alam niyo ba sino tatay ko?" Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the Philippine National Police Chief, said he didn't care who Orbos' father was as he praised authorities for accosting the motorist.
"What you saw on the video is indeed regretful and contrary to how I was raised with Christian values by my loving parents, who taught me to be respectful to proper authorities," Orbos said.
