An online fundraising campaign seeks to raise P1.5 million to finance another surgery and hospitalization of veteran ABS-CBN journalist Doris Bigornia, who suffered a heart attack in February.
The TV Patrol reporter and Teleradyo anchor underwent open-heart surgery on Feb. 25 but her daughter Nikki said the elder Bigornia would need another operation for a pacemaker to control and regulate her heartbeat.
The costs of Bigornia's treatment have been "financially exhausting," according to Nikki, who launched the #FundingDoris campaign.
"While we are extremely grateful to those who have helped since mommy’s admission, after having been in the hospital for more than a month (and counting); it is, unfortunately, not enough," she said on the fundraiser page.

Bigornia's friends in the industry such as fellow ABS-CBN journalist Dyan Castillejo, have also called for donations for the veteran journalist.
"We never would have thought that we would be in this situation; more so, helpless and humble in asking for everyone's help financially. We would also like to thank everyone who has been continuously praying for mommy and to those who have helped in their own way," Nikki said.
