Metro Manila will remain under general community quarantine or GCQ "with some restrictions" in July while several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao will be under the stricter modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ due to spikes in COVID cases, Malacañang said Wednesday.
The provinces of Rizal and Bulacan will also be under GCQ "with some restrictions" from July 1 to 15 while Laguna and Cavite will be under GCQ "with heightened restrictions," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.
Apayao, which was earlier recommended to be placed under MECQ, was reclassified under GCQ, while Ifugao--which was initially classified as GCQ--was included in provinces under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ.
