Global payment facility PayPal is an attractive option for online transactions due to its security features and availability in multiple currencies.
Businesses, freelancers, and private individuals rely on the service for buying and selling around the world, but it helps to link the international wallet to a local one like GCash for daily use.
If you've got payments or credits in your PayPal account, you can opt to deposit it to your GCash account instead of the traditional bank account or credit card.

Here's how to link your PayPal account to your GCash wallet:
Linking requirements for PayPal and GCash
Only verified GCash accounts can make PayPal transactions, and both accounts must be owned by the same person. Your first and last name on PayPal must be identical to your first and last name on your GCash account.
For example, Juan Dela Cruz and Juan De La Cruz don't match so it will not be honored.
Your nominated e-mail for GCash must match e-mail used for PayPal, and the PayPal account must be set-up in the Philippines
According to GCash, users have to remove their withdrawal limit on PayPal by verifying their credit card or bank account. This must be done before using PayPal to load your GCash wallet with funds.

How to link PayPal to GCash account
Log in to the GCash app and click on ‘Profile’ on the lower right corner of the screen, then click 'My Linked Accounts'.
Choose PayPal then nominate the PayPal e-mail account you are linking to GCash and click 'Link.' To push through with the linking, click 'Authorize'
Log in to your PayPal account after being redirected to PayPal’s login page.
Confirm your mobile number and tap on 'Continue'. You will receive a one-time pin to be used for verification.
Once confirmed, you have successfully linked your PayPal account to your GCash wallet. You can now transfer PayPal credits to your GCash account.
Users with successfully linked accounts will also receive an e-mail from PayPal confirming that they've signed up for a preapproved payments plan to G-Xchange, Inc.

How do I cash in with PayPal?
Before you transfer funds from your PayPal account to GCash wallet, make sure the amount is within your wallet's limit.
Log in to the GCash app and click on 'Cash In.' Under 'Global Partners and Remittance,' tap 'PayPal'.
Enter the amount you want to add to your GCash wallet. A minimum amount of P500 is required per transaction. Confirm the amount and cash-in.
For a hassle-transaction, convert your PayPal funds into Philippine Peso for withdrawal. If you don't have Peso as an added currency, you can change your PayPal account settings.
Most transactions are real-time, but some may take time, but will finish processing within 24 to 48 hours.
You will also get an e-mail notification confirming the transfer from your PayPal to Gcash account. A text will also notify you of the transfer.
Email Notification. You will receive an email that your PayPal account has been debited with the cash in amount.

Do I have to link every time?
The preapproved payments plan allows GCash to transfer your PayPal credits to your GCash wallet. There's a limit of U.S. $2,000, or roughly P100,000.
Once you've exceeded a cumulative amount of P100,000 from PayPal, you will have to relink your PayPal account.

What other limits are there?
Verifies users have a wallet limit of P100,000 at any given time. This means you can't have P200,000 in your GCash wallet.
Monthly cash-in limit is at P100,000. So let's say you have P200,000 in your PayPal as payment for 4 months worth of freelance work. You can transfer only P100,000 this month, and wait until next month to transfer the remaining P100,000.
Keep in mind that this monthly limit applies to all transactions. If you received P5,000 from a local client who paid via GCash, PayPal can only transfer P95,000 for the month.
