Shopee is helping Filipinos shift to digital payments by offering top-ups of its proprietary e-wallet via TouchPay, the online marketplace said.
Reloading Shopee Pay is now available on 600 TouchPay terminals nationwide. For the uniniated, TouchPay is like an ATM, except that it accepts cash for bills payment and digital wallet top-ups.
Shopee said it expects the value of digital payments in the Philippines to grow 16% annualy, amounting to $28 billion (P1.4 trillion) by 2025. That's roughly one-third of the 2021 national budget.
