Fishermen on Monday rushed to harvest from fish cages in Taal Lake as thousands fled from the rumbling volcano that has emitted steam and gas for four days since the previous week.
A steam and gas eruption similar to the one that happened last July 1 is likely, authorities said, as they kept the volcano under Alert Level 3, the third highest.
In an effort to save as much of their livelihood that is dependent on Taal Lake, some fishermen in Laurel town rushed to harvest fish from cages as authorities moved to prohibit activities in the area.
At an evacuation center in Agoncillo, Batangas, evacuees under A1, A2 and A3 category received their first dose of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine to offer them protection from the virus that is as much a health hazard as a restless volcano.
